RE: Poultry Hollow, I got my first "Ameraucana"s there a couple years ago (they are actually EEs, but since I don't show & got the blue/green eggs I wanted, no problem). I was pretty happy with my birds. A friend went there a year later & bought "Cuckoo Marans" that turned out to be some other barred variety - not Marans chicks. So it seems to be hit or miss from my exp. Otherewise I have got my birds from friends or Craigslist or BYC contacts ;-) I love this community forum!

I think I am gonna hold off for right now till I can have a bigger run for peacocks. I love my phoenix rooster even though I am working on making him like me lol. I really want to keep the 12x12 for jim bob my roo and find a couple phoenix hens. Only problem is everyone thinks he is a fighting bird and I am way against that. So that kinda makes me Leery on breeding them cause so many people my way fight roosters..

That just seems stupid to me. You don't fight roosters with super long tails. You might make fishing lures out of the feathers but you sure don't fight them. Maybe I am wrong but they are not my image of a fighting rooster.

I've been to Poultry Hollow 2x - once I got 4 silkies (one died from what I'm sure was Marek's disease) and the second time I got some cochins that had respiratory illnesses that I battled for several months. I went back the second time fairly soon after the first, so my poor little silkie, Tinker hadn't shown symptoms. These are all bantams, and I did get a couple of good birds (my rooster Carmel is amazing) but I won't be going back. Just putting in my 2 cents.

Can anyone tell me what type of rooster this is? I think its a Mille Fleur, but MacMurray Hatchery told me it was a buff brahma rooster. When I bought my 15 chicks, they threw in 1 'exotic' and its this rooster. I emailed them to see if they could identify and they told me its a buff brahma. I can't believe that. He is much smaller than the others. - - - Still looking for someone to take some buff bantam brahmas if you're interested. They are almost 10 weeks.
