Right now all I have is 3 RSL pullets, 3 White Leghorns pullet, 1 EE pullet, and 1 EE roo. I really am wanting to add some Barred Rocks, Ameraucanas, and Rhode Island Reds to the flock. Anyone close to Murfreesboro have any of these pullets for sale and how much would they cost? I don't want to have to drive outside of the 'Boro to get them. Not interested at this point to try and hatch my own either because it sounds really hard to do. I did find some RIR hatching eggs for sale though lol. Not looking for a lot or to spend tons of money, I just love chickens :love

well I have rocks and ams....well I will not have many ams after the sale tomorrow. selling my wheatens tomorrow. I am keeping 2 hens and have a few more growing out.

Now if you mean Easter eggers I have them all the time.

I just have some chicks right now. I will soon have some hens. I have a few new pullets starting to lay and they will replace my hens.

I would recommend getting orpingtons from a breeder not a hatchery. Hatchery Orpingtons do not go broody as often because the way these hatcheries breed there birds they breed certain traits out such as broodiness to get them to lay more often.

There are tons of colors to choose from In the orpington breed if you get them from a breeder...Black, Blue, Splash usually sold together as BBS, Lavender, Buff, Red, Partridge and tons more that I cant think of right now.

This is a very good thread to learn about all of the colors and the breed and get to know some breeders.

Silkies are super broody. I think cochins are as well, although I don't have any so I'm going with hearsay on that one. I have silkies and I know there are others on here with cochins. Someone on here is doing assorted orpingtons too.

I have an ameraucana line that is freaky broody (weird since they aren't supposed to be a broody breed). They are rotten mothers, so I don't ever let them hatch, but sheesh! I can't keep them out of the nest boxes when the mood hits them. Silly girls!

Good luck!

The Ameraucana I got from you goes broody all the time! And the one time I let her hatch, she did a terrible job. She's pretty easy to break (just get the eggs every day), but she is crazy.
