Well, with my hatches the first several do fine, but then once they start moving around they roll the pips and it seems like most of the ones that get rolled after pipping I always end up assisting. I do have a fan and I like the nice even heat. Maybe I may see about wiring a dimmer switch to it so I can slow it down in my new build. After this hatch of chickens and a run of turkeys next I plan to retire this incubator. I can't believe it survived the 1200+ degree temps when I had the fire. It looks pretty rough though, so I want a nice looking one again.

Anybody know where to get U of A blues?  I had someone come out today and she wants me to hatch her some for her birthday.

. I was at Rural King in Clarksville yesterday. They have more chicks than I've ever seen in one place. About 8 different breeds including 3 bins of Araucanas.

You could try contacting either ronott1 or hallfamilyfarm - both members here on BYC. They either have them or could suggest someone who does.

I got some little pellet-like food for my parakeets but they wouldn't eat it so I gave it to the chickens and she ate that.  The only thing she seems really interested in eating is bread.  If this continues would she be ok eating bread with vitamin drops on it or something like that?

P.S. - If anyone is interested in taking some parakeets, please let me know!  There's a green boy and a yellow girl.  George and Tammy. Their cages, food, bowls, and toys are included!!!  These birds were dumped on me and I work nights so talkative pets aren't the best for my schedule.  Asking $50.  That's about half what I paid for the cage.  (I couldn't stand the two of them in that little cage they were left here in)

Got 2 green eggs today from the pen w/ half doz. random EE/OE pullets and my older laying (brown egg) hens. I've been waiting on these pullets all winter! Yah for eggs, yah for green, now just to figure out who gets credit (their combs all went read prior to the last "polar vortex"). Part of the good news is that since they waited so long to start laying, the girls are all large and so are these first 2 eggs :)

I hope everyone else who has been waiting on pol pullets through this crazy winter finds eggs soon!
