I'm just throwing in a random question. What types of chickens should I AVOID in TN? I live in Murfreesboro and understand it can be chilly to y'all (I'm from Iowa, so teens are comfortable in winter for me) but I don't want my chickens to be miserable and getting frostbite etc. and I don't want them overheating in the summer either.

When I first started and BEFORE I knew about this thread I went on My Pet Chicken….they ask you where you live, what you want the chickens for and other questions and then they tell you which breeds do well for your area and summer and winter temps…..

Nope! I buy the 50 lb. bag at TSC it is for wild birds but it is the same thing!

If yours are young they might not have figured out yet that it is yummy. The babies can be more cautious about this stuff unless there is an older greedy pig chicken to show them the way.

They will figure it out! it just takes one to eat a piece then they will all start to eat it! Maybe if they like to eat out of your hands put some in your hand and maybe they will try it!
