Lori I hope you get well soon sweetie sorry you have been so sick and laid up. I am going to Clanton just let me know if you head out that way. I will pick up the chicks soon things went bad with the house and we have spent the last week moving back into the place in Woodbury.

Congrats on the new babies everyone.

I have a couple of PQ showgirls if anyone is interested.

Tish,
No hurry on the little ones. They are quite happy in the kitchen/bar area. Came around the corner the other day and the kids had them all running all over the dining room and the older cat was been climbed all over. Gosh I love these cats. She has babysat every group I have hatched since I bought the incubator. She doesn't like the geese that much because the pull on her fur but she is still sweet. She justs gets the look on her face like "Please Save ME!!!". Never an ugly meow or swat. She has less patience with human children though...she has swatted several. The younger ginger likes kids and will play fetch with them for hours. She is the one that gets in the brooder box to share the heat lamp.

Here is both of them in their favorite position

I enjoyed looking at your blog, Austin. That's the reason I got chickens - to become more self-sufficient. I've got several books on homesteading. Don't know how far I'll go with it - but I started with chickens and a garden. :)

Thanks

I plan on posting at least once a week on everything from plants to animals and canning to soap making. I have a library of over 50 homesteading books and a collection of probably 20 or so homesteading magazines. I've studied ever since I was ten haha that was over six years ago. Back when my parents didn't support my ideas. But now my dreams are becoming reality and I want to share my success, experiences, and knowledge to others in order to persuade others to get back to the simpler lifestyle. I really hope you'll persue it

it is my pride and joy

No worries about the hens. I'm just sorry you have to give up your chickies.
