For less than $100.00 (charger is less than $30.00 at TSC) depending on length, ele. fencing makes better friends!! I would put it inside my fence line, leaving room on the other side to trim up to your fence--Caution: DO NOT ALLOW anyone to connect to your fence!! My husband uses 6 ft t-posts driven in 2 ft-(ours are welded horse fencing with hot-wire top and base. But for your app--you could use step-in posts and have it done tomorrow, use metal--they last longer and ground better. Oh, and for people next door that are clueless, include the sign for electric fencing to protect against any liabilities.

Thank You...I have about 700 plus feet I would need to install. I could always do it in sections the sign is a good idea, but they would still probably pee on it anyway

One time getting shocked on your pee parts would stop that, LOL. We install 2 acres top and bottom and it was not that much--for just the electic fence. You can go back later and do the barrier fencing/stronger posts- if needed.

Another newbie question......I've been leaving my feeder out 24/7 ....I was reading this morning that I should only feed in the morning and evening......They are very healthy, not fatty, but I't got me worrying that I shouldn't do this......any thoughts?

Chad....will definitely keep you in mind.

Mine have feed/water available 24/7, too.

24/7 here too I had a couple little piggies when they were younger but no one seems to be indulging like that anymore. I do let mine free range when home the fresh grass seems to help with the diet too. Mine seem to be fine.

Thanks everyone.....I thought it was ok, that will teach me not to read from the "experts"......mine also free range now and they seem to love it but stick pretty close to the coop, no brave wandering souls.

Anyone have any pullets or young hens of the following breeds for sale?
Light Sussex
Buff Sussex
Partridge Cochin
Other Cochin
I am in Sumner County. My hen to roo ratio needs a little beefing up. Thanks!

I will be putting my eggs in lock down tonight. Can't wait to see what I end up with. I'm moving all my juvies around today and making room for the newbies.
I have four eggs from the RIR flock I bought from Donna, and 11 of CarolJ's SFH. So now I'll be watching my webcam instead of working tomorrow.
