It's here now and I am so nervous because I have eggs pipping as we speak in the incubator. Warnings etc. until 3am. I am beside myself, pacing the floor & nervous that we could lose power

No back up, but you can bet I will have a car converter etc.& a full tank of gas next time I incubate.
Best of luck to you hope everything works out for you

i need opinions, i have a window approx. 8 x 30 in my coops south faceing wall.

i also have ventilation holes in my gable ends. the holes are 5/8 of an inch in diameter each.they are located in line on both sides of the coop. If i close the window will this still allow enough airflow to prevent excess moisture this winter. while still cutting down on drafts to keep the ckickens warm?

IDK really, I would put more, but that is me. Mine have the eve that is open and is covered with hardware cloth. I feel sure that is ENOUGH. They say when in doubt add more. You can't OVER do the ventilation from what I understand.

Tin I do open air coops so to me that is way less than they need. As long as they can sit on their feet...wide roost.. and its not way below freezing they will be fine.

Donna that baby is to cute! Congrats!
