Okay, so I read the thread. It appears the bird was given best of breed because it was the best of the EE's. Non-standard birds will only be able to win best of breed, not of show, variety, or reserve

I always heard that EEs aren't a breed, and therefore are auto-DQ'd.

I can't say anything about SOP, having never read it - I doubt that showing is in my future, given that the nearest poultry show I'm aware of is about eight hours away and informal. However, I was curious about Blue Plymouth Rocks after reading this... found this site. Pretty birds, faint but distinct lacing in the picture.

Funny, that's the place I buy my Rocks at . His hens are okay, but boy are his blue roos trashy (not to be too rude)

Yea, they are soo rare breeders are doing all they can to bring them back.

Okay, I don't know much about Rocks, but the Roo's colouration alone is making me cringe.
