The Moonshiner's Chick Chat

Pics
I’m swimming in chicks! Some are 7 weeks old and some are less than a week and I have about 30 more (Olandsk Dwarfs, quail, d’Anver and my own mixed birds mainly Orp-Ameraucana crosses (not planned but the broodies are sneaky!) in the incubator and under the broody bunch, my three BCs. 😁

That is awesome how they will hatch non stop.
In my opinion game hens are the best most devoted momma hens and of those the grey hens are the best of the best. Other breeds can sometimes be skittish but it's normal for me to pick up the bucket with them in it to go from dome pens to above the ground pens walking across the yard without even a twitch. They act like a statue. When pulling chicks they can get kinda loud and bite and twist or slap with thier wings. I sometimes wear a jacket or flannel for protection but when they are switched they never got off the nest
