We had almost no mosquitoes all year until the rain in late August and they were everywhere. Recently, there’s been a cold snap these past few days so none at all.

My city has had someone running up and down the roads every week or so on an ATV spraying out it's a$$ a big cloud of pesticide of some sort for the skeeters.
I have to say it must be working because the mosquitoes have gotten a lot less.
But I worry about my birds and my dogs being outside breathing that. I was sitting out on the deck one night when they did that and I had to go in the house. The wind blew it my direction and it was not pleasant.

Yes, there is a hotline and if enough people call in our area,they send out small aircraft to spray. I too worry about my parrots and animals breathing that stuff. We hesitate to call for that very reason,but damn it's a bloodbath this season.

So far the animials seem ok.
But where they drive by down our alley is close to my call ducks.
But I've noticed less fleas this year too so idk. Maybe it's helping.

How you guys fairing in your area with mosquitos?

They were awful but we haven't had any rain in about a month, so all the standing water in the ditches and what not has dried up.

I've got about thr normal amount here. Go out and kill about 3 an hour. Few years ago we had SWARMS of them. I'd never seen anything like it.

Just wait till all that Ida rain gets to grow you some.

Something does like biting my ankles, though.
