I told my dental hygienist that the girls laid their first eggs. She asked when they were "due" after also telling her that we have no rooster. I had to explain that they were for eating, not making babies. Took her awhile.
I had a really hard time explaining to a friend from Japan about colored eggs. None of their native birds lay eggs other than white or brown, so they really have no idea that a shell can be blue or green. He though the inside would be colored too.
