Well... My Mom was on the phone with my DH the other day and apparently the chickens came up. Apparently she told my hubby that we ABSOLUTELY MUST heat the coop this winter. Apparently chickens turn into Popsicles when the winter months come. DH told her we weren't going to be heating the coop, and she insisted they WILL freeze to death this winter

I also asked for an incubator for my b-day. Yeah yeah, I'm going to be 29 in august, but I still get a nice present (what can I say, I'm an only child

) from my parents. My Mom asked why I wanted an incubator, would I actually use it, and am I now planning on going into the "egg business"? I told her that I don't want my hens sitting all summer, and I wasn't going to be selling eggs to the public, but I do want to hatch out eggs when I want, with out worrying about having a broody hen or not. I'm not sure what she meant by the "egg business". As far as I can figure, I wouldn't incubate eggs for eating

, and I wouldn't incubate eggs that are for sale as hatching eggs. Yes well... I could go on about this sort of thing forever!
