The new (human) baby thread...

How is sleeping going for you guys? Ethan is now 10 weeks old and is sleeping around 10 hours through the night. In fact, I'm waiting for him to wake up now. It is great, BUT, he only cat naps through the day and prefers to do that in my arms. Between pumping his milk out every 4 hours, feeding him, and holding him while he naps, it's really hard to get much housework (or anything else) done these days. I have to remind myself that this phase will be over before I know it and to enjoy it while I can.

I had Joseph on June 30th. I was a week overdue and they tried to induce me, but after 18 hours of Pitocin, my cervix was still closed, so we went with a C-section. 9 lbs 3 oz, huge head. Even if I had gone into labor, we would have needed to do a C-Section, because he was so big. He never "dropped" as most babies do at the end of their term, because his head wouldn't fit into my pelvis.

We've been home now since Sunday and aside from being terribly tired, uncomfortable, and worried sick about finances, everything is fine. He's a week old today!

I love Huggies, but especially the "pure and Natural." I get $3 off coupons, and I get them for $5.49-5.99 a pack. Walmart has them for $8.99 regularly and sometimes Kroger or CVS have Huggies on sale for $8.49. That is when I buy lots of packs!

francis still gets up a few times during the night..he eats like a little pig! he is really big now..during the day,he will sit in his swing and gabble to his brothers and look at stuff, and then he will have a big nap, get up, eat, play with me for a while, and then we get jammies on and get ready for bed. but yeah, its hard to get housework done..its not too bad since i have so many kids to help out though, so im lucky there.
10 hours a night? you are one lucky lady!

Ladies -- If you give your baby formula, Sam's Club has the best price on their formula. It's $19.99 for the biggest can of formula that I have ever seen! It compares to Enfamil. The have the regular Lipil DHA kind and the other that's like Enfamil Gentlease. My doctor had told me that it is exactly comparable to Enfamil as far as nutrients and such. The texture of the formula is slightly different, though. I bought it for my youngest when we were done breastfeeding. It's waaayyy cheaper than buying it at the grocery stores or even Walmart. They do carry big cans of Enfamil, too. But it's way more expensive for a can that's smaller than the Sam's Club brand. Even if you didn't have a Sam's Club card, it would be worth it to get one (I think it's about $35.00 or so now) being the price of formula is expensive!

we need a sams club card..the problem is that they dont care staple food items in bulk.the generic brands anyways. we always spend too much it seems.

I only buy items that are cheaper than if they were on sale at the grocery store -- that's my rule anyways. I buy Nestle choc. chips, vanilla, spices, cocoa, paper towel, toilet paper, laundry soap (their brand - $13.88 for 110 loads), fabric softener ($10.00 for 150 loads), dish soap (their brand - 7.00 - lasts me 6 months or so), dishwasher detergent (their brand - $7.88 - two huge bottles that last me 8 months), hand soap, vinegar, canola oil, olive oil, and Fleischmans yeast ($4.88 for (2) one pound packages). Those are my staples from Sam's.

Hi everyone! I had my twin girls on May 24th so they are a little over 6 weeks old, time has flown by.

Right now I'm using Pampers diapers but once this pack is gone I'll switch to either Food Lion brand or Sams. I've used both with my other kids and never had a problem.

Sleeping is going good for us at night. The girls go to sleep around 9-10 and sleep for at least 5 hours before wanting to eat. They have both just started falling asleep without me holding them so i'm getting a lot more done during the day.
