Autumn is BEAUTIFUL... just precious! Love her name, especially since I love the autumn season too.

I actually did give Ethan a little rice cereal today. My 9 year old DD (here homeschooling with me) begged me to. And since I started my other 4 kiddos on it at 4 months I figured why not? Anyway, I mixed it with breast milk and had it so thinned out that I don't think he even knew there was "food" in it. Did quite well with the spoon but got fussy because his food was coming too slow and he was getting sleepy so I poured the majority of it in a bottle and let him drink it. It was only a tsp of cereal mixed with a couple of ounces of milk.

Made his 4 month shot appt. today and dreading it already. I really wish there was some way to administer vaccines that didn't require shots.

Aww thank you

I do not look forward to getting shots, and seeing my baby go through it is 1000000 times worse!

I have struggled with the vaccines, I know that they are good, but what if there are side effects we don't know about?

This reminds me though... I really need to make an appointment for my little one. The doctors got my schedule messed up around the sixth month appointment, and now what would be her 9 month appointment is at 10 months. She will need shots...

But what can ya do?

Thanks for reminding me

BTW, That's great that you are homeschooling! I was home schooled all the way through high school and I plan on homeschooling my little ones!

Hi all!! My little guy is 11 days old today!! He was born at a planned homebirth and was 9.8lbs and 21 1/2 inches. His name is Drew.

I also have a two year old daughter Riley. She is a wonderful kid and a great big sister.

So... we use cloth diapers, prefolds and covers mostly. I also used them for my daughter, so we are diapering Drew for free, which is a nice relief on our budget because I'm a stay at home mom and we are on one income. I absolutely love cloth diapers... no leaks, blow-outs or worries about chemical burns...

I am a big supporter of breast feeding and will hopefully one day become a Le Leche League leader. I'm hoping to start my training ASAP. I love nursing and hope to help other mothers to find that same joy!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week and look forward to connecting with all the mommies and daddies on here.

I have breast fed my baby girl for 10 months now, and I love it! I struggled in the beginning, but now it is second nature, and very much a blessed way to connect with your child!
Cloth diapers... bless you! I haven't had any problems at all with store bought ones, but I was worried when I heard reports about chemical burns! Yikes!

I just can't bring myself to wash the dirty cloth ones... eeehhh....

I am also a stay at home mom, and I'm very thankful we can afford to buy diapers!

Robin'sBrood :

Has anyone started feeding their babies solids yet? Got a box of rice cereal for Ethan yesterday but I'm not sure I'm ready to start him on it just yet. It is so funny to watch them start eating food... we should post pics of their first food experiences.

oh yes..ive been feeding francis first stage baby food and cereal for a few weeks now..hes a little porker!
i am worried about something though..he wont make eye contact with me at all! when he laughs at me, hes looking at the top of my head..he looks at everything but he wont look at me directly, if that makes sense. other than that, hes doing well..such a fat happy little guy.
hows yours doing??

I would mention his lack of eye contact to the doctor at his next visit. Ethan likes to look at my hair too, but he does make eye contact. Probably nothing but it can't hurt to make the doc aware.

Ethan is doing great... but he is getting too big too fast.

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't popped in for a while...computer issues. Wyatt is 4 weeks old today! He is much more alert now and stays awake for a couple hours at a time. He's also stretching his feedings out to about 3 hours in between instead of 2, which is nice for me, especially at night. He's breastfeeding and bottle feeding (with breast milk) and could care less which way it comes as long as there's milk! He's tongue-tied, so breastfeeding was incredibly painful in the beginning, until a lactation consultant gave me a nipple shield...best thing on the planet! I would have given up without it.

Amyh - 9.8 lbs! You poor thing! I couldn't even imagine having a baby that big, especially without an epidural! Of course, I would have had a section with a baby that size b/c Wyatt needed the forceps and he was only 7 lbs, 9 oz. Congrats!
