I missed everyone so much but after being gone for so long I wasn't sure just exactly how to wiggle back in! So I took the coward's way out and figured at this point I'd probably stay gone. Merry Christmas!!
Here it is @KDOGG331Basic White Sauce Recipe
For years, Lois Gelzer of Standish, Maine has used this smooth sauce to make many dishes, including the two shared here. "The recipe can easily be doubled or tripled," she says.
TOTAL TIME: Prep/Total Time: 10 min.YIELD:8 servings
Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
Dash white pepper
1 cup 2% milk
Directions
1. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour, salt and pepper until smooth. Gradually whisk in the milk. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Use immediately or refrigerate. Yield: 1 cup.

Add a cup or so of good cheddar cheese to the white sauce after it thickens. Play around with other spices to taste.
You can double the sauce if you want more. Pour over cooked pasta--we like small shells

I think you did fine!Gee, I don't know whether to pop in and say hi now or wait a few more days and bask in the compliments! Guess I'm kinda like a rash that hangs on and on, but when it goes away you find you miss it because scratching it at least gave your fingers something constructive to do!
