The OHIO NATIONAL 2010

The seminars are organized by the Junior Show Committe even though the most attendance is by adults.
I will find out this weekend, during set-up, what is going on.
I don't have much to do with the Jr. Show other than judging some so my information is not complete.

The entry ended up being 6,900 birds. Biggest show of the year, Junior show and largest waterfowl exhibit.

Well - this is really up in the air. Dr. Keith Bramwell of Arkansas State was to conduct the seminars. He comes to The OHIO NATIONAL because the University considers it one of the best locations they know of to see youngsters who are interested in a poultry science education. They think of The OHIO NATIONAL as "the happy hunting ground".

But this year Dr. Bramwell has been dipatched to Australia by the University to collect and bring back from there Heritage breed chickens that came from America in the 1930's and have had no different blood introduced to the line since then. This is all being done at the behest of P. Allen $mith who i$ intere$ted in Heritage chicken$. Very intere$ted. Did I $ay he i$ very intere$ted?

We are scrabling to come up with something. It will be announced at the show.

Be sure to take some pictures of the Welsummers there so I can post them on the WCNA website to congratulate the winners.

I wished I could be there but maybe the Indianapolis would be closer for me.

I had never even seen a speckled sussex before so, having no clue whether she was a good one, I stalked her cage waiting for her owner, and after the judging was done I wrote my number on the back. I ended up catching the owner at the cage and her sold her to me. She did get reserve class at my show. but has the worst habit of molting for almost every other show, so I rarely get to bring her. The judge on the day she placed said she was a really good bird. I was like - ok. I had never seen one in person except for her so, whatever you say, dude! She is very haughty, and is now the head chicken.
