The Old Folks Home

I was trying to add my cell phone to my PayPal account, but they won't accept it because the bill is in my husband's last name. Which is different than mine. So I can't add my bank account. The old account is no longer valid. And all they have right now is the automatic system. You can't even talk to a real person. I say it's crappy customer service. They say it's due to Covid. What? They could certainly have half the staff at least!

Well the sunshine is over, and a big storm is closing in. I worked on fixing the roof on the hoop coop, and cleaning the clear panels. The last piece of wire is on the coop, but I only attached it on one side until I finish fixing the roof.
And I shoveled 2 wagon loads of Turkey poo out of the coop. Only about half a wagon load left to clean up, then I can do the renovation.

Your storm comes in as a High pressure cell moves over us!

We go over 100F from Tuesday to Thursday next week

Dinner here tonight is Au Gratin potato casserole with ham and a veggie.

Yes....cheese. Moe Larry Cheese! Moe Larry Cheese! Sorry I'm punchy tired and couldn't resist. We got all 4 rolls of fencing up but not secured in. Still have one to go but it started raining on us. Blech! Also wound up with three extra cattle panels so we are trying to figure out whether or not to replace/reinforce their original pen. At the moment I have a huge blister on my rt hand and two sore fingers so the faster we can get this project done the better I'll like it.
Fried cheese is so good!

I hope your recover well from the extra work

Out of the 8 eggs, I got 4 chicks. 3 eggs were quitters. 1 was turned around to the small end of the egg, and never made it out. The 15 I brought back, are growing fast. The little duckling is doing fine. I have a stuffed animal in with it. It cuddles into it. It doesn't seem overly scared, and even seems to enjoy when we talk to her (shhhhh, I want a female for eggs).

@ronott1 it isn't anything that a weeks worth of rest and an industrial size barrel of Voltaren Gel and Solonpas lidocaine rub won't fix....if that doesn't work, there are always good old steroids.

Glad your chicks and duckling are doing well, @getaclue. I caved tonight and when I turned my eggs, did a quick candling to see if there was any sign of development. Lo and behold saw 8 out of 9 with tiny little spider vein embryos in them at 3 days no less. One bantam egg didn't have anything going on yet but I'm holding out hope. I won't check them again until Sunday when I plan to turn them over to the mothers in waiting.

We have had a gorgeous Luna Moth take up residency on our kitchen window for the past three days. By the size of it we think it is a gravid she. She moves about a foot around the screen during the day but has shown no inclination of leaving. I told DH talk about a bummer life. Emerge from your cocoon in the spring, immediately breed, never eat in your winged state, if you are a female, lay eggs then die...the end. I'll have to see if I can get a picture of her.

Forgive the dirty screen. The weather had been too carpy here to hose them down and now that the weather is finally warming up, my kitchen screen has turned into a maternity ward for wayward Luna Moths.

This one is actually one of the smaller ones that we've seen here. We have had some as big as our hand.

It does take time to recover!

The moth sounds like a big one.

They do get to live as a larvae for more time so hopefully they get some sort of purpose out of that stage
