The Old Folks Home

Congratulations Cyn! Beautiful little girl. :weee I can't wait to be able to take pictures of my grandchild. :D I did talk DD into letting me do some maternity shots (privately so the MIL doesn't find out too soon) while I am up there for the wedding.

Beautiful baby, Cyn! Congrats!

and prayers for Maddie.

Do other insects/creatures move into bee hives if there are no bees in it?

tnspursfan, I am sorry I meant to send you good wishes on Maddy's surgery. Hoping to hear the good news soon she is out and beginning her road to recovery. How long does the doctor think she will have to stay in the hospital? :hugs

These Fins are marvelous! All of their obsolete measurements are great fun.

The smallest unit of weight is the weight of one musket ball!

I just saw one used by the Laps, gotta love it..

poronkusema – (approximately 7.5 km). A Lappish measurement of distance; the distance a reindeer can travel before needing to stop to urinate. Today used to describe something that is at a very obscure distance away.

I still haven't seen " unit of time- how long it takes a hen to lay and egg" or unit of distance "how far it takes a bee to travel in one day"

What I wanna know is what the average foot size was in different areas of Germany, found one town where one of their "feet" was equal to 18 modern day inches.
