Having absolutely zero experience with bee keeping, I'm not too sure about this, but it's my understanding that you can lure a wild swarm to move into your own coop.

As to vents and venting. In my chicken shed I have almost 7" tall vents along half of the walls.

I like vents, lots of vents. I just have them set up so that no snow gets on the perches, and there is no breeze over the perches.

@Alaskan With the vents I have, I calculated that at -10C outside and -8C in the coop, the air should change about twice per hour inside the coop due to the stack effect. That is of course only in theory, but even with half of that I think it should be enough.

OK, my vents are just over one maik tall and are over about half of the wall area, which would be about 3 lan

Ok folks, she's gone back. Well...she went back there almost an hour ago but we got to go get our hugs and then I took mama out to the car for a cigarette. She's a mess. Maddy was more than ready. She wants to get it over so she can eat. Says she is staaaaarving.
