The Old Folks Home

She'll probably be in for about a week. Thank goodness for our Best Western rewards card...stay three nights and the fourth is free. DH's parents provided us with a gas card and extra money for food and anything else we might need.

We just got an update that the surgery is going well and that they are almost done.

Had to go back and look at the German feet again...

OK, all time shortest was 250 mm (9.84 in) in both Fulda, Kurhessen and Darmstadt.

The largest was 480 mm (18.90 in) in Cremona, (now in Italy but at the time of this measurement a part of Austria).

Interestingly, there were often "work feet" and "field feet" with the work feet being smaller.

Apparently, work boots are smaller than field boots.....

Just talked to Dr. Kelly. He said the surgery went well, he filled in the indentation in her right temple, closed the gaps that hadn't fused (they didn't have to use any bone from her...used some sort of putty), removed some bumps of calcification and reshaped her brow. We can go back to see her in an hour and she should be awake an hour after that.
