I'm guessing it's similar to "Inuit"... Which means "the people" and has nothing to do with eating raw meat... I think... Eskimo means raw meat eater.... I think.... Don't quote me on that....

CC, yeah, people who've been to the States always comment on that. I once spoke to a large man who had been on a business trip, and he said that at lunch, even the women were finishing servings that he could only eat half of.
