Great job Bama, so happy. We need some pics of course.

my daughter is the lead large animal and carnivore keeper at the zoo in Baton Rouge (not sure of her exact position title) and her new bosses recommended she get the shots.

I FINALLY got it and I love it!!! Larger print, color illustrations and pics, the whole thing is bigger, easier to read, AND,,, loaded with with a ton more info on everything that can go wrong with chicks and adult birds and how to fix it (and when there isn't a fix). Well worth the wait

I understand now why there were so many delays in going to print, she kept adding the latest research.

USA probably hasn't done it (Oral rabies vaccine) because it would make SENSE. Or they would say some little kids will pick it up and eat it- not much chance if dumped in the wild.

Ummm there is also a little issue of country size as well. We have a few more acres here than they have there. We also already have enough of a budget deficit without adding any more to it thanks.

If oral rabies stuff were available I am sure private people would get it for their land. Government is not the answer to everything. I have never heard of such a product probably an FDA thing.

I don't expect government to do everything but , know if "ordinary" people tried - the government would shut them down.

On the subject of oral rabies vaccines - the USDA Wildlife Services have been using one on raccoons in this country for years:
