The Old Folks Home

Bunny, I have no problems with a sparkly pony. It's the guy who thinks he's a sparkly pony that I prefer to steer clear from.

By the way Bunny, got any experience with loud noises around bunnies? The neighboring plot is finally starting construction now, and apparently they're going to blast a bit of rock away to make room for the foundations, I'm a bit worried since this will be happening about a hundred feet from our bunnies.

those blasts are very controlled.... very.

and Most horses handle sudden noises with a start.... They jump and plant thier feet to be ready to run... Then they need a moment to get over it.... But some dont handle it at all.

Fireworks are a prime example. Some horses need happy pills to get through it... Ear plugs help too. but its that deep ultra sound that gets em.

I think most bronies are still in touch enough with reality that they know they aren't ponies (for those who don't know, bronies are fans of My Little Pony; a surprising and rather disturbing number of which are male [hence the "bro" part], and not little kids). I think we met a few when we dressed the minis up at Halloween - a lot of folks not only knew that they were My Little Pony characters, they knew which ones. ,

My rabbits live in close proximity to roosters, so they are a bit more relaxed about sudden loud noises, but years ago, my son had a go-cart that he rode in the yard a lot. I can remember being in the rabbitry, and seeing the rabbits flinch and hunker down as he went roaring past. They learn to deal with it; Heaven knows, we have thunderstorms a-plenty around here (including a few lightning strikes on the property) and I have never found an unexpected dead rabbit afterward that I felt could be attributed to the storm. Rabbits can be so startled that they try to run in a blind panic, jump across their cage, and break their own necks hitting the further side wall - it's the reason that we use such small carriers when we take them to shows (if the rabbit doesn't have room to run, he's more likely to huddle down and try to hide). So though I think you have reason to be concerned, I have hope that your rabbits will be fine, if a little shell-shocked.

You are right Perchie,   I recall an  episode where the guy was murdering people and letting  his pigs  devour  them.   I think they found shoes and figured out what was happening.

That one really   upset me.  I guess the older I get the weaker the stomach.  Stopped watching  tv when I realized so many of the shows  started with a murder and proceeded from there.

I haven't watched  any tv for the  last two years or so.   Get the weather from the weather radio. Check out fox news on line to see  what major doom is facing us for the day, and then stick with BYC - in between my numerous naps.

On  occasion I stream some old movie or show from Netflix.

Sounds like a plan. :D

It does sound like a plan! I think, just waiting to get dragged off to Shady Pines...

More goat photos.. Poor Holly, no good photos of her... I will try to take and post done tomorrow.

I tossed in one more of the scenery of the drive home. It was a super gorgeous day.

Clearly the beautiful scenery kept the goats happily occupied.

And you wonder why I was never interested in watching that show??

I'm not worried about the blast itself, but the sudden super loud noise might make for some heart palpitations. Well, we'll see if we still have bunnies afterwards.

Well, with you and Karin sitting with the rabbits, petting them, they will be fine. Of course you might lift off the ground with each blast unless they have a warning signal. Even then it is likely similar to the glaucoma test at the optometrist. You KNOW that little blast of air is coming but it is still disturbing when it happens.

I took one of the kids to the doc today (regular check-up).

Kid (age 12) was asked if he was having any health concerns or issues. He said "well, I woke up today, so I think
I'm good"

Doc thought it was funny.
