Bunny, I have no problems with a sparkly pony. It's the guy who thinks he's a sparkly pony that I prefer to steer clear from.
By the way Bunny, got any experience with loud noises around bunnies? The neighboring plot is finally starting construction now, and apparently they're going to blast a bit of rock away to make room for the foundations, I'm a bit worried since this will be happening about a hundred feet from our bunnies.
I think most bronies are still in touch enough with reality that they know
they aren't ponies (for those who don't know, bronies are fans of My Little Pony; a surprising and rather disturbing number of which are male [hence the "bro" part], and
not little kids). I think we met a few when we dressed the minis up at Halloween - a lot of folks not only knew that they were My Little Pony characters, they knew which ones. ,
My rabbits live in close proximity to roosters, so they are a bit more relaxed about sudden loud noises, but years ago, my son had a go-cart that he rode in the yard a lot. I can remember being in the rabbitry, and seeing the rabbits flinch and hunker down as he went roaring past. They learn to deal with it; Heaven knows, we have thunderstorms a-plenty around here (including a few lightning strikes on the property) and I have never found an unexpected dead rabbit afterward that I felt could be attributed to the storm. Rabbits
can be so startled that they try to run in a blind panic, jump across their cage, and break their own necks hitting the further side wall - it's the reason that we use such small carriers when we take them to shows (if the rabbit doesn't have room to run, he's more likely to huddle down and try to hide). So though I think you have reason to be concerned, I have hope that your rabbits will be fine, if a little shell-shocked.
