The Old Folks Home

We need a "raising hand," smilie......... you know for asking questions or for asking permission to use the bathroom. Just one short thing on goats, will electrified fencing keep them in bounds ?

Mine hasn't. :rant

They also climbed right over my five foot tall fence. The pulled it down, pushed tiny holes way bigger...etc.

We finally have the five foot wire fence secure enough so that they no longer bust INTO the orchard/duck yard. But to make a fence to keep them contained...well...we will try again in the spring. And luckily it is now nasty enough and snowy enough that they don't wander too much.

How about this one for questions?

Uh? Excuse me? What has gotten into you old folks? I am away for a bit and I come back to over 400 posts! Ron, be a lamb and give me one of your recaps of pages 5966 through this post.

Thanks, you two. I have been busy and had to let some things go, and I'm still not caught up.

Work is the pits, I spend a lot of time trying to figure out how I can retire and still afford to send the boys to college and go to poultry shows. My dad is requiring more and more time.... he is 94 and slipping fast... I want to spend more time with him. I am getting much deeper into my breeding program and I have WAY too many chickens right now. I should be out there sorting the flock right now instead of here on the computer.

You guys made my day, though, I needed that virtual hug.

Sorry time and money are tight right now for you WIsher... That way for a lot of folks. Sorry dad is slipping as well... never easy but we all "know" that time comes. Coulda sworn I read on here someplace that there's no such thing as "too many chickens"... Glad you stopped by as I too was wondering over the past several days if you'd disowned us or something. Hope things "slow down" for you soon so you can get the things done that you need.
