The Old Folks Home

Now THAT'S a monitor. DH and I each have our own computers and monitors. Since we figured, hey, it's our house/home and we are here most of the time, we use our coffee table as a computer table. The computers sit on a shelf under the coffee table and our monitors/keyboards sit on the table itself. The comfortable sofa and TV are in the family room as is the coffee table and we hang out here most of the day anyway, especially when the weather is bad.

We find that the older we get, the bigger our monitors get. LOL.

The outhouse quilt does not have a recipient yet. It was supposed to be an "I Love Home" block of the month to use up scrap but I decided I Love Home was way too "floofy" for my taste and Amphetamine Squirrel said let's do outhouses instead in the middle and Dsqard drew them up for us... so the 3 of us are doing outhouses instead.

The good news is my giant tom in the basement is finally standing and went back out to the coop this morning. Turken 1.0 isn't doing as good - her crop is broken. She's been sick since Thursday and hasn't pooped or eaten or drank in the last 24 hours. I gave her a total of 6 mls of vegetable oil, plus 100 mg docusate and a bunch of massaging. Not helping.

good news on the tom, sad about the hen.
:hugs

It just doesn't seem like first of November is just around the corner. We have had such a mild fall here that I got complacent and hoped it would stick around forever.

me, I hide my head in the sand (uh, dirt?) hoping winter just won't show up ...

Snowing again. .. plow isn't on the plowtruck... had some trash I hadn't yet picked up...

:hu

did get all of the wood that was sitting outside into the garage.

Yeah, we need to get the wood splitter serviced and put up in the barn for the season. We managed to drop two trees and chain the wood for next winters heating. It's in a pile behind the barn and will be covered for the winter and then split next spring.

It feels good getting a jump on things.

Right now the temp here is 50. BIG shock to go outside after weeks of weather in the 70s and the windows open. Which reminds me, I need to go out and put up a wind break for the standard sized birds..

Hi guys.... No way I can catch up..... :frow
