Ok, a lot of these were going on in the 70's too. Crazy to think about.

Are you feeling older yet? We've come a long way kids!

in 1967 I was twelve we moved to California.... Dad bought our first color TV... It was a Heathkit. We had to put all the resistors and switches and components on the printed circuit board.... Assemble the collar for controlling the CRT tube... then check the tubes at the drug store to make sure that they hadnt been damaged.

Then put the tubes into their sockets we had placed on the circut board. After that the test ing of the CRT started. To align the R G B gunsto make them all hit the same spots of phospor... That was done by a little screw driver.

Once all the guns were aligned the grid on the screen was pure white with no halo around it.

Then dad had to build a de Gauser to de magnetize the CRT. That had to be done about one a month or more if there was alot of static electricity in the air.

First color TV was a hoot. and finding a color broad cast was aweseome. I think thats why dad and I spent alot of time watching cartoons on Saturday mornings.
