Good luck, i always felt great the day after that procedure. The stuff they knock you out with is great!

I think the addition of the dog is precious but the idea was a great one to buy the property for the entire family

Great grandfather made a lot of money and lost A LOT of money. His lasting legacy is the family plot and, yes, the best thing he ever did (at least according to Mom who got that from her mother, the youngest of his brood. Great grandfather died before Mom was born.)

Hubby, myself and sister all plan to avail ourselves of it when the time comes. B-I-L wants to be dumped at sea. Just as well, the folks weren't all that fond of him anyway.

Show him a couple pictures of what shingles looks like and read him some stories of people who still have pain, years later, from the virus.

Then tell him you'll buy him an ice cream cone on the way home if he's a good boy.

OMG. My dad got a case of the shingles that affected his head. He didn't have much hair, so when the shingles spread that purple Phantom of the Opera mask that ate half his face, it was REALLY noticeable. Luckily he didn't lose his sight. Exceptionally grody when the skin started shedding. He was sequestered because of it for months, trotted out at Mom's bridge parties for exhibition. But if ever an alcoholic needed and excuse to drink more, well, ready made painkiller.

I asked my Dr if I could get the shingles shot. She said they don't know if it will interact with my other meds yet so I need to hold off on it.

GOOD ADVICE. Brother-in-law had two shots in short succession and came down with Guilliam-Barre Syndrome (sp) that had him in rehab for months. Not an uncommon side effect.

Good luck, deb! It's not all that bad. DH and I agree it's the best nap ever. Can do without the video and souvenir pics, though. :sick
