The Old Folks Home

I haven't known any victims of this personally, but I have heard of people (mostly children) who got clotheslined and killed by chains or cables across driveways when they were out riding 4-wheelers or motorcycles. I can't imagine any of us would want that to happen to anybody, trespassing or not!

RedPulletMama, those quilts are lovely! I dabbled in quilting a bit, a few years ago, but my creative streak seems to like crocheting more. My last project kind of blended the two; it was a crocheted afghan that was based on the "log cabin" quilting pattern. For some reason, I don't seem to have a pic of the whole thing, but here's one "square":

LOVE it! My mom crochets a lot and tried to teach me, I just never picked it up. That is really pretty and Christmasy :)

I have made one Lone Star quilt top...many many years ago. I found I just don't have the patience to machine quilt a whole quilt top. Now clothing, alterations, household items are another matter.

Today was picture day at my place.

My little helper Dakota with his new rescue hens. They seem to be settling in some are even laying.

The ladies enjoying the temporary duck pond.

Sorry for all the pics but ya know gotta show someone.

SCG there are a ton of videos on youtube and the Missouri Quilting Company does some really great ones. Hers are pretty and easy most of the time. I did a little quilting but mostly I machine quilted, It's called stitch in the ditch.

Thank you for passing this along! I have written my evening chore list, and I vow to get through it as quickly as possible (after a quick snack and a BYC peek, that is) and look at the tutorials on here.

I won't quote pictures, but RPM and BunnyLady, you have some talent. Those are gorgeous.

Is there a recipe for cat?

Bunny lady and Red pullet momma you are both very talented. I do very little crocheting the last couple years. I had been making queen or king size blankets for my kids. They pick the yarn and I have made 4 of them and still have 2 to go.... But I have lost interest for now.

I crocheted a queen size blanket just going around and around a granny square (I think that's what it's called) until it was the size of a queen size blanket. By the time I was done one row would take the length of a movie.

After that I never wanted to see a crochet hook again.

I understand that. When I dream up a project, designing it and working into some new phase of it is fun, but it's almost inevitable that at some point, the fun will have run out and there's still more work to do.

When I do something new, I need to focus, so I can't even have the radio on. Once I get the hang of it, though, I like to watch TV or a movie while the hook does its little dance. Sometimes, I can pick up something I made years ago, and my mind instantly goes to some TV show or movie that I watched while working on it (does anybody hear me humming "Ashokan Fairwell?")

I can see that happening! I made one of my DD's a king size blanket and washed and dried it and took it to her. She took it to her room and threw it in the floor in her closet. :(
