The Old Folks Home

My daughter loved clams, oysters, squid, alligator, etc. as a child. She used to crawl across the table at restaurants to eat the seafood out of my plate. Then she went on a "I hate fish" thing. She wouldn't go to the gulf coast in Mexico with us because the only protein at outback restaurants was shrimp. After trips to Europe and Asia, she's now rightfully a seafood eater again.

Karin (the better half) apparently loved steak tartar as a kid. Waiters used to look at her dumbfounded when she ordered it as a five year old. Once, after the meal, the waiter asked "How was it?" Karin, 5 years old: "I've had better."

My son was the global grilled cheese food critic. I can't tell you how many states and countries he ate grilled cheese in when growing up. He did have a rating system that he can probably remember still.

I wonder if that originated from the Baltics? That's where "hamburger" came from, immigrants to Germany brought their "odd" food with them, I guess Germany was like "aren't you going to cook that?" Ok, jk

That's the best line I've seen all day. BF had today off and he not only got up early and made me breakfast, but I just came home to a cleaned house, laundry and dishes done, sheets changed and some deer chili in the crockpot. He is so well trained.

I'm going to miss him when he comes to his senses.
