Ron, nice looking birds. I like the shape.
Did you start with leghorns and araucanas or with the hybrid? They are a cross of araucana and leghorn. I picked the rooster for his shape and then picked these pullets(his babies) out of about 50 this fall based on the way they looked.
I really do not want to ruin them with bad breeding so I am being picky.
I plan on getting hatching eggs from the person I got the first ones from next year. That way I can work with my best and her best--synergy in breeding is the hope.
They came from a Graduate project at the Univeristy of Arkansas. The PhD student worked under Dr. Bramwell.Did you start with leghorns and araucanas or with the hybrid?
I am a fan of blur birds

They are egg laying chickens and not eating. They are small large fowl and will weigh in the 4 pound range at a year old. The boys are a bit bigger but not really dual purpose.I want some.....(not to eat, though)![]()
Let me know when your egg selling project is underway, s.v.p.
