Metroid was way ahead of its time, I don't think I ever even beat it and played for thousands of hours. Nintendo 64 was a fav of mine, don't do games anymore, except for DH Texas holdem poker, and all the angybirds on my phone. Oh and miniclip 8 ball pool.

Well it's not spring yet (at least not here) but we did make it to Friday!

Two of us have been working on a nintendo quilt in sewing class made entirely out of 1 inch finished squares. After a couple weeks of working on it, we're now 4% done!

This is what were making:

At this rate it's going to take us 2 years just to finish the top.

I raised chows for many years. We had one named Muffin. We had a sunken living room, and the dog was at the bottom of the steps, sleeping. My middle daughter was little, and decided to jump from the top, down onto the dog, full force. The dog yelped, so I know it hurt her. I grabbed my daughter, and paddled her butt. The dog was sore for a few days, but fine. She made no attempt to harm my daughter. She was fairly young, but older dogs can be hurt more easily. Had my daughter done that to me, I would have bitten her. Daughter learned real fast that mommy would not tolerate any form of animal abuse. Later on, I had 7 chows. They were all inside dogs, and very well mannered.

From what I understand statins can cause severe muscle problems and that's a reason to change meds or go off. My brother went through 3 different brands till one he tolerated. My sister and I are on Lipitor - I get a 10mg. daily at bedtime. Her dose is larger.


My dad was on so many meds that caused dizziness - and he fell often. The docs couldn't imagine why. Geez. He was even on two drugs for Alzheimer (he just had dementia) - the pharmacist said he never heard of that practice.
We fought over it with them a lot. His urologist had him on something he was supposed to get for a short time. But every time he called for refills the nurse kept putting them through. Much later on a different nurse noticed he was still getting it refilled and put a stop to it. Really scary isn't it?

If you have a good relationship with your pharmacist by all means show him all meds and discuss with him. I've known mine for many years and always ask him about new meds.

Once, when visiting my dad, I went into his bedroom. He had a small dressing table that had been my mom's. The surface was solid pill bottles. I asked him why he didn't discard the ones he wasn't using. He said, " I take all of them.". I was shocked and said it was time to get a new doctor. He said, "oh no, I have a wonderful doctor".
I think he was dead about 6 months later.

Yeah. Hence the reason bee suits are white. No bee hives in Polar Bear territory.

Thats great bamachicks. I wish my bator from last year would. Im worried about all my turkey eggs for my march hatch. I guess i will leave them in my new bator so i know they will hatch.

How many are you going to hatch after those?

Wisher I never knew that Chows could be unreliable. We actually adopted one as our unit mascot. The dog (Chow mix, had the blue tongue and curled tail) showed up at our flight line one day tired, hungry and thirsty. Don't know where he came from but he wasn't too far off. He didn't have a collar and hadn't been wandering too long (he wasn't starved) and was very friendly. Our unit "enlisted" him in the military and got him a monthly stipend for food and care. Different people would take him home nights and weekends. During the day he would wander around the flight line going up to just about anyone. We named him Hunter after the kind of UAV we were flying. He really was a great dog. Unfortunately he got hit one weekend in front of the house of the person who had brought him home. It was sad.
SCG I am assuming that the ostriches are at the Rooster Cogburn ranch? Actually not interested in going to an ostrich festival. Next time we are in the area, we can stop by the ranch. They are open to the public most days. Sorry you are going to get more snow this weekend.

I thought the suits were white because bees will really zone in on the color black? Also, I know that CO2 gets the killer bees riled up because it is associated with mammals that take their honey.

I've saw bee keepers check their hives and gather honeycomb with no suit, just a little smoke puffer. I guess when the bees know you and are used to you they don't get all riled up. The smoke pot helps to calm and or confuse them also I guess.

Same difference. They're white primarily because of bears, I just meant that polar bears wouldn't be raiding hives.

Yeah, I've seen that too. In fact, I've inspected my hives before without a suit, especially in the heat of summer or when I'm too lazy to suit up. I do get stung on occasion though.

I went with my grandmother when she was still alive, must be like five or six years ago now... but anyway, I went with her to see her personally assigned nurse, with whom we went through all of her medications and how they react together. She then consulted the doctors who had prescribed the different medications, and dropped away the ones that were no longer considered necessary, some dosages were checked, and some meds were switched to others. To my understanding, this is something they try to do with most elderly people, there is still so much medication that is taken unnecessarily, and some people might even be on contradicting medications. I think it's a really good idea.

Sounds like what we did with dh grandmother. she was having mini strokes that would dissipate before medics would get here. We moved her in and I took over her care and we got her off 16 meds. Her previous $$$ grubbing grandaughter was trying to kill her by neglect. Her meds were free so no one ever questioned it. When I found out we went straight to her doc and sorted through everything too. Some were un-needed others dosages were way off.

I wish that was the policy here I talked to a doc at Kaiser and he said we dont have a gerentology department. Its known that meds you take at forty need to be adjusted to when you are in your seventies.

Grandma has a new doc... Her blood pressure was too low and she sufferes from dizzy spells. New doc took the med she was taking and had her cut the pill in half and take it twice a day instead of once. We will see how well that works.

Shes been taking that medication since she was in her sixties. Now at 98 they are listening to her about her dizzy spells... Sheesh.

Use your pharmacist - take all your meds (anything you put on or in your body, regardless of whether it's a prescription or an over the counter) and bring them in for a pharmacist to review (just a plug - if it's a busy place call first). We live for this kind of thing!!!!!! Depending on your situation, we can either suggest things for you to discuss with your provider, or we can talk to the provider ourselves.

I love my RPh. I was a medical assistant, and then a pharmacy tech years ago. We have a good relationship. I can ask him anything. I just choose to use as few meds as possible.

Actually, we played Monopoly (its monopoly but made for Jonesborough...called "jonesboroughopoly") first and then those of us who went bankrupt started a game of uno. Maddy would have won uno but she refuses to use her wild cards...she hoards them.

Sorry abt Maddy and the dog.
We play Uno with 4 decks of cards, dropping draw 4's like crazy. Nothing like someone having to draw 32 cards at a time. My record is 64, after 16 were played in a row!

Needless to say, I lost. Monopoly is not one of my favorites.
