Okay. Old Folks, I've got one for you. My coop is on a slope and one end is dirt floored and the floor of the other end is about 1.5 feet off the ground. That space under the floored end is where the goats sleep. Inside that end are my brooders and chicks over three weeks old.
Today, DH found a dead hawk under the coop. UNDER it! The bird looks totally unmolested, is likely young, and has beautiful plumage. The dogs can't get into that area, the chickens (roosters) were all locked up. It just has me baffled. I am going to call the state in the morning and see if they want to test it. Weird, huh?
I'm no hawk expert, but I think it is/was a Cooper's Hawk.
I just heard we are in for a snow storm this weekend too. Noooooooooooooooooooo!Looks like snow showers this weekend and another big storm rolling in mid-week next week. Plenty of time for the forecast to change... to more snow.
This old biddy is going insane.
I'm making a sign with this.I have a bed and make your own breakfast
For the lady who wants to test a dead Hawk but not herself....
Rule X. If you don't take a temperature, you can't find a fever
I'm not going to ask them if they want to test ME! The hawk's definitely more sick than I am.![]()
Quote: The hawk isn't sick at all now, which is why it's better to be tested sooner than later.![]()
