The Old Folks Home

Miss Piggy is my showgirl. She hatched and looked godawful so she got the nickname pigpen. Over the years (as with many of my animals names) that's morphed into Piggy, then the proper Miss Piggy...

Post your cow.

I will of course keep you updated on the hatch, what quits, what hatches and how they look.

here is Miss Piggy in the back with her new calf and Bully in the middle and Miss Daisy with the horns in front.

Your Miss Piggy is so cute.

Puddin I would love to see the pics of all the chicks your girls hatched.

I spent most of the day in the coop watching them. They got them down on the ground today and showed them around the inside of the coop. I kept most of the others busy free ranging so I hope it gives them some time to get settled.

LOL..wait, when did I get that new badge? How fun...thanks to whoever did that!

Opps didn't mean for it to post.

Now I get to decide what to do with these little fuzzy butts. Probably give the chicks to one hen and the rest of the eggs to the other. And get the incubator out for "just in case". And it will get filled with duck and goose eggs that are piling up. I might as well give up.

Oh, the hens are banties so these chicks are tiny.
Good luck with the broodies!

A good repairman of any kind is worth his weight in gold, because it IS super difficult to get a good and TRUTHFUL one.

It is what it is.

I'm also growing increasingly convinced that Miss Piggy, my showgirl of many years, is a boy. Never crowed or laid an egg...

And not that it really matters what sex Alaskan Miss Piggy is, but I am curious.

I love your Miss Piggy, too. I want a cow, badly. If you ever want to try to ship a cow... let me know.
Thank you. These are hand fed babies just like the chickens. lol If you take a bag or bucket in the pasture they come running for treats! They are so funny. We have to hunt Bully down now and then he goes wondering off to service the heffers in the nearby pastures. And the girls take turns going over the fence to get serviced by the neighbors bull! They are so darn funny. But we did have our neighbors bull over here for over a year. lol

Find a farm that has cows and talk to them about buying a day old calf. You can bottle feed 2 times a day before work and after work. They are cheap that way. :)

Puddin I love your babies they are just so cute and their mommas are just beautiful! I hope they will be ok with the other hens. I was to scared I separated mine last year I did not want to chance it I gave my hen 4 Sweetgrass turkey eggs I got from Arielle and I wanted those turkey so bad.

I had a miss piggy when I was a kid. Best darn rabbit dog I ever had. A beagle, bluetick coonhound mix. She had the head of a beagle, body was colored like a bluetick. She was really short and fat and bowlegged in the front. Ran rabbits really slow so they hardly ever holed up. She would go all day long. Slipped colars, dad built a kennel for her and she would use her feet and nose to climb out so she could chase rabbits. Called her Missy for short.
