The Old Folks Home

Merry Christmas to everyone on the old folks home!!!!! All the prepwork is done. The pies are made, the ornaments are made, the turkey is brining, presents are under the tree. Now for the hard part, waiting for everyone to get up!

Cowboys colors for DH and of course the other is for my granddaughter.
We have been having a wonderful visit with DD and her family. Went out and got a little sled to pull her around in. She wasn't too sure about it but it was cold and a little windy. Today it is snowing a bit so not sure if we will get a chance to try again.

Merry Christmas, Old Folks!
I hope that your day is filled with presents, peace, family, and feasts!

My family will be taking time today to read the Christmas story (Matthew 2: 1-11) from the Bible. The story has special meaning to Christians and never fails to give me goosebumps. It is the reason we celebrate Christmas.

I feel it is especially important in today's climate that we exercise our rights to choose religion (or not) and our right to read whatever we want. There are those who are targeting our way of life and would change it if they could. I believe that we should all read the Bible, the Torah, the Veda, and yes, even the Quran, to understand others and to remind us that we, as a nation (US,) value religious freedom, and only reject those who choose to practice any religion that promotes and practices forced conversion or harm to others. Even those of us that are not religious have the right to openly reject religion, some countries and religions do not permit that.

For anyone interested in a more in depth study of the Christmas story, you may want to take a look at this. I found it interesting.
