The Old Folks Home

My losses were not financially burdoning. Just a pain in the butt. I thought my coops were bullet proof. Never expected floods though.
On the bright side: I will have bomb proof coops soon. My feed bill will reduce. Not nearly as much crowing.
It is really heartwarming that you guys offer to come out of your pocket to help me. Kinda tear jerking type stuff for me. Means sooooo much

Bama, I don't have a lot in the line of "real life" family or friends. But this place is my community - family and friends - and I'm happy to support you guys when I can (within reason). I met one of the bestest friends I've ever had on here, and I swear I couldn't have made it through this year without her or without you guys. I still struggle on a daily basis just to get up, put pants on and pretend to be normal. I could not do that without the support, friendship and laughter I've had from her and you guys. So while I know my cold hearty mutts aren't much, they're what I can offer. They're the least I can do when I get so much from you guys.

National guard moving into our area and not for riots this time.
13 confirmed dead in MO and 12 of those are due to people driving into floodwater over roads.

My biggest wind problem is doors blowing closed near dusk and chickens getting locked out.

Well, that and trees coming down on coops.

I won't complain about my blizzard then.

Luckily, floods aren't an issue here where we live, but apparently the snow we haven't had all winter should arrive later in the week. All at once.

Bambam, how about stilted coops?

My stilted coops did best. But I lost an isabelle leghorn cockeral off of a 6 foot high roost
