The Old Folks Home

Why do I seem so frigin guilty? my Mom is a home she is not in a wheelchair she has
dementia but I cannot care for her here I am unable to lift her for long
when I do sleep it is that of a dead person if she tried to walk here she and my bf
fell over

I cant lift anyone. I requested that mom get one of those emergency things that hang around the neck. Last time I had to drive over there to pick her up off the floor we both fell in a heap.

fortunately we arent at the dimetnia or invalid stage.... I wouldn't be able to hold up at all.

and Yep Mom is next she is 82. sigh

No way. Well, it has happened before with the Golden and Dachshund. Google it. Cute dogs.

Wow, sounds like you are busy keeping up with Grandma. Glad you do get the rest you need during the day...and then keep up on here..better than I do on this thread!

Thanks deb, going to try a bunch of stuff with those green matters. Usually I wait till they turn red. Have a couple dozen qts in freezer already. Going to try green tomato casserole today.

Don't feel guilty. That is the first thing I learned as a caregiver. No matter what your situation is you are doing the best you can.

Being a caregiver is a thankless, soul wrenching endeavor no matter what your circumstances are.

@Beer can, as for the green tomatoes, look up a recipe for green tomato relish. My mom used to make it every fall with her left over tomatoes and it was super delicious.

Hello all! Just stopping in real quick. Went on a bike ride yesterday to check out the leaf colors. We are getting there but not quite at peak color. Here are a couple from the trail.
