Went for a mucky walk but glad we got out. The temp went up and the rain stopped for an hour. Got back in time for it to start back up again but the woods are so pretty right now. We are just going into our fall color. If and when we get some sunshine I'll get some pictures. I took a short nap after lunch and still felt draggy. Glad to say that I do feel a bit more energized now.

Also started cleaning the rooster coop. They had spilled food and water last year creating an inch of concrete like crud on the oak boards when they tracked mud in on top of it. I'm having to use an ice chopper to carve it out. It's been closed up and waiting for my attention over the summer months when I was dealing with a lot of pain and inflammation and cut back on my physical labor causing it to bake to a hard clay like substance.. Now it's whispering my name every time I go out there so scraping away I did go.

Both of my parents were cremated and both have headstones. I hate that I'm so far away and hope my brother is keeping their graves decorated but knowing my brother........The cemetery used to send out order forms for arrangements you could buy through them but they stopped doing that. It's the same with DH's parents who are interred in Floriday.

This appeared in our extended forecast this morning:

Friday Night
A chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36. Chance of precipitation is 40%.jj

:hitno no say is isn't so!:hit

We have had 4 inches of rain so far. Now it's gone past thank God! Rain! to Okay, turn off the faucet now. Chickens don't want to come out. When they do they just track muck and water into the coops. I had to changed clothes when I got finished feeding, watering and putting down a layer of dry bedding. Plus with them being inside more, they are pooping on everything they shouldn't. Fall cleaning is badly needed but I'm not looking forward to it.
I need to clean out both sides of the main coop. Not looking forward to that either.

Just because I went in to have my second(last) Shingrex shot for shingles, the pharmacist said the demand was so great - the suppliers are OUT of them. I wonder if that screws up the whole deal - you were supposed to have the second one in a certain time period. I would have gone earlier but the pharmacist told me to come back in Oct. :rant

Gee, if only you knew someone who knew the answer to that...

Yes, most places are out of Shingrix. The company that makes it is releasing small amounts once a month. Wholesalers are limiting what pharmacies can purchase. We were lucky to snag our allotment last week before it was out of stock again. We are not starting new patients but are offering the second shot as long as we have vaccine in stock.

According to the CDC:
If more than 6 months have elapsed since the first dose, administer the second dose as soon as possible. Do not restart the vaccine series, and do not substitute Zostavax® (zoster vaccine live) for the second dose of Shingrix.

SCG Would you recommend calling before we tried to get the new vaccine

Most places are doing what we are doing - not starting new patients and just completing second shots for those that have gotten the first one.

My wholesaler is saying full recovery in June 2019, CDC is saying January 2019 and GlaxoSmithKline (the maker) isn't saying.

You're welcome to call around now and see if you can get it started with the first dose and then get the second dose in 2019. It's a very effective vaccine. However, I'd guess you'd have to wait until 2019 to start the way supplies have been.
