The Old Folks Home

Scg your spinning wheel is beautiful.

I have lost 21 lbs.
Trying to keep a check on 3 of my kids in the path of Michael.
It does sound like a bad one!

I once saw a program (probably TLC) on breast surgeries. I should get a reduction, but to me the barf factor on what they were doing was enormous. Slice, dice, drop nips in a separate container for later. No thanks. Of course, as you get older gravity makes bosoms less attractive. Instead of a cup size I now wear a 42 long.

I l-o-v-e dairy foods. Mom used to rag on me that "Man is the only creature that drinks milk after weaning." She was thin and, yep, was diagnosed with a raging case of osteoporosis. So because I have that in my hereditary background, the docs ordered up a bone density test. My bones are -- quote from doc -- like cement. Cheese on!

Cool spinning wheel! I should get a band on mine but fear that anything leather will get gnawed on/destroyed by Dolce, whose bed is right next to our spinning wheel. Roving here would be roving shredded everywhere as she'd, no doubt, be looking for a squeaker amidst all the stuffing. Dogs are great, but they can be quirky. (Just like we peeps!)

This past few weeks I've been self-quarantined as something viral went bacterial in my respiratory system. Drugs are kicking in, but still not recovered. One would think with all this time mandated at home the place would get a little cleaning. After all, I'm there with nothing to do; right? Nope. I'd better get well as I've got A LOT of deferred maintenance to catch up on....later.

Could have been fungal too!

I hope you are over it soon

Not one of my more cheerful days.

Woke up wondering what I could find about weight restrictions, etc. Not advised to lift 50 pounds. Not advised to lift much at all is what I read, especially with spinal osteoporosis. I'm getting a copy of the report but I remember reading that L1 was affected which is in the area where compression fractures can happen. Not happy, no siree.

DH, bless him has been trying to come up with solutions for me. Best one is to open feed bags and dip half of the weight out of them. Moving 25 pounds is better than 50. He says and he could have a point. Still. We live on a hobby farm. Lifting stuff happens.

I'm 65 years old and having to learn to do things all over again. I just want to stand on top of a hill and scream out my anger. I've always been so independent and yes, strong for my size.

Plus, I'm torn between needing to not carry extra weight and not falling below 127 pounds which is what I read is the 'danger' weight for developing osteoporosis. Women under 127 pounds are at a higher risk. I've been under than most of my life until after the 'big change'. RIght now on our scale, my AM weight is 128.5.

So I ate a cookie! With chocolate m & m's in it. Bought them yesterday at Hyvee and stuck them in the freezer. It was delicious! No guilt at all.

Plus it says I need to give up caffeine in my coffee. Say is isn't so!!!! Talk about adding insult to injury.:hit

Maybe I should eat another cookie?!:clap

I saw that operation on TLC :tongue:sick. I've never been a member of the itty bitty club. In fact I'm remembered in high school as the girl with the big rack....no lie. Yes, my shoulders have huge dents in them from straps but I'll be hanged if I would ever go through that breast reduction surgery..
