That would be my Dad (who will be 90 tomorrow) on the left and me splitting and stacking this past June. That would be before I broke down and bought a real tractor and started implementing the "minimize the number of times I have to move each piece of wood" plan.

A bunch of that wood is now in the rack on the porch landing or on the porch.

There are some people around here that make some pretty fantastic wood piles.Highly decorative. I don't think I could stand to burn it if I spent a lot of time making it look so nice.

Told me once he'd seen a guy who bent over and impaled his eye on a piece of rebar that was sticking up out of the ground and blended in with the background.
My eye doctor is my Doctor Honey!
:thBeing an EMT for over 30 years, I've seen a lot of blood and other stuff. I can handle that. But I have told my crew that if we ever get an eyeball call, I'm driving and I'll wait in the truck while they do what they have to do. There's just something about eyes.... :sick

I think I recall there is something complicated about how Vanilla flowers get fertilized

Like most orchids, it has a sort of lock-and-key relationship with one particular pollinator. I understand commercially grown vanilla is hand-pollinated; I don't know if the people with the paintbrushes are required to hum "Flight of the Bumblebee" while they do it, though.:idunno
