That is an amazing genealogy!I have a cousin that is a Dr. in Texas he did a study on the blindness that runs in our Pinson family line. From the first Pinson here in the U.S. that we found on a census was blind and so was his brother and most of their descendants. Including my grandmother and my father, brother and two of my kids are legally blind in one eye. Many of my cousins also went blind. So he got the Willis eye clinic to do a study on the genetics of the cousins across the country to see what was causing it. It turned out it's macular denegation. Kids from 5 and up are going blind in this line. And indeed they were Spanish. He hired a professional genealogist to do the genealogy of the two brothers and connect all the cousins who participated in the study. I could not it had to be a male for the Y. So I asked my so if he would and he did. My son is legally blind in one eye and cannot see well out of the other one.
We were told by a historical society in Spain that our Pinzon line came to the U.S. with Christopher Columbus and they owned the Nina and the Pinta and many of the Pinzon relatives were also on that trip and many stayed in different locations along the journey.
On the individual country break down it say's I have relatives in Spain through my DNA.
But they may be British as you say. lol
Thank you for the info on the ice age info.
That son of a gun let the salt run out awhile back, and had did not mention that we needed more salt. We got salt, and added it today. Normally I have it set to backwash every other night. I set it today so it will backwash every night for the next few nights. Dang his hide!
She's active on FB, working part time at a hardware store and still into poultry.Speaking of MIAs, has anyone heard from Wisher lately?
Thanks for the kind words about the embroidery work. @superchemical girl, yeah, it's a lot of work. About a week to do one panel, 2 hours an evening if I'm lucky.
If you are doing a quilt for him you could always do something like a Celtic knot with applique? Or possible machine embroider the panels?
Then we could be related! 3 of my grandparents immigrated from Spain in the early 1900's, like before 1915.On the individual country break down it say's I have relatives in Spain through my DNA.
Though driving doesn't bother me, I have begun to get very "sensitive" to separation between myself and vehicles that I'm passing or are passing me. Many times I feel I'm much closer than even the 2 foot allowance on narrow roads and there has become a "pucker" factor and the need to pay much closer attention at those times.
That is an amazing genealogy!
I hope knowing the genes that cause the problem will help. There is a genetic fix for at least one kind of cystic fibrosis now and I think for one type of blindness
Not that I know of but then I don't have any real genealogy. Grandfather from the province of Leon, one grandmother was from near Pamplona so Spanish Basque. The other grandmother was from Barcelona.Bruce any relations to any Pinsons?
