The Old Folks Home

Happy Saturday Everyone!

Sunshiney 56 degrees expected here today. I keep hoping that the guys who predicted the solar minimum causing a rough winter were wrong but in reality I know that the shoe can and will drop unexpectedly as far as the weather is concerned.

Plans for today. Not much. I still don't have a lot of energy so I'll probably do some woodworking. We are still working at putting down mop boards. The house had zero window finishing or door finishing in it and I seem to have been working on the job forever.

Also will take another slog er walk in the woods, maybe clean up around the coop a bit. Then there is always studying to do. DH and I are attempting to learn Morse Code. Trust me, it isn't as easy as they make it look on the old TV westerns. Then there is the final operator upgrade that is staring me in the face. It's called Extra. I'm a General now and really happy with it but DH is challenging me to challenge my mind so yes, I'm studying for the test. I've never seen so many people get so excited over over spread spectrums and spurious emissions!

So busy weekend. Plus, still coughing and snotting but hopefully I'm getting towards the tail end of it. If you can take a flu shot, get one this year. This virus is more than just nasty.

I put jam in cottage cheese quite often also, strawberry jam usually. Sometimes add some granola cereal, or what ever cereal we have.
Mentioned to a milk truck driver that comes in at work that I mostly prefer it plain, nothing on it. He said he grew up eating it and his parents always thin sliced up onion with it, still ate it that way. (We snag some for the drivers that like it quite often)
Never tried it with onion, think I had a pile of it every night on my dinner plate that week lol, very good.
When I was a child, my mom always liked cottage cheese with chive on either ritz crackers or saltines. I seem to recall that I liked it then, but I never eat it now... Not sure why. :idunno I also used to really like a combo of jelly and honey on ritz or saltines.
