The difference between having one and two dogs is negligible. But once you get to three, things get logistically exponentially more difficult. Like, for instance, wrangling them to the vet if you're solo or a duo. DH says it's because two dogs are pets; three are a pack.

I've always had more than one dog at a time through the years, until this year. . I've usually had three of my own. Most know by now that I used to foster and rescue...so had one at least of those, along with mine. Too much going on now for us, but I'm sure grateful that we can handle one. He's spoiled. Yep.

Today's adventures. I'm sore and tired.

Performed a tree-ectomy on the Taylors. And then since I had help (he arrived as soon as I got the root ball out), we straightened the stones around the Jaquith monument.

I took the dogs to the clinic at TSC this afternoon. Rabies shots done, 6 months of heart worm meds.

Thanks! It's my great grandmother's passed down through the generations. They were big entertainers in their day and when Mom died we discovered a couple of full-on sets of partyware. (Realistically, who needs 5 punch bowls?) My niece inherited 175 pieces (finger bowls, two-handled consomme cups) which is in storage...it'll probably get sold for minimal $$ when she gets it as she's a vegan in her early twenties, doesn't cook, has a small apartment, and not into entertaining (although we all hope she'll marry a diplomat somewhere and put it to good use. Hey, one can hope!) My nephew got another set, not as extensive and less ornate. No idea what he did with it. In my piecemeal set I filled in the pieces as I could find them on-line. Sometimes you can find great stuff at garage sale prices (usually the shipping is the big expense) because people just aren't collecting fine china anymore nor do they want their relatives' antiquated stuff. A friend of mine recently couldn't even give her china cabinet away. It's a shame, really. Family heritage seems to be lost on youth.

I figure I had best use the china (I have my wedding set, too) and entertain as I've got no kids to leave it to. Luckily, I have friends who enjoy my culinary efforts and a little afternoon luncheon pampering. You're never too old for a tea party!

But then... I realize that both of my parents were very old fashioned and raised me the same.

caring and love myself just as I am
