The Old Folks Home

I'll check out the Cady site.

As for Costco, none of them nearby either. Northern half of Missouri is a wasteland that way. KC to the west, Quincy in IL (and pay IL sales tax? that's one of the reasons we fled from there), Columbia and St Louis to the south are where all the big name stores are and they are 2-3 hours away or more. Nearest Joann's is in Quincy. It was the same in Western IL except Galesburg was 45 minutes away and we could find stuff there

The library was open. We had a good time. Granddaughter got to read about the two topics she needed, to finish her extra credit worksheet. I renewed my 25 year old library card. They gave me a new one, that even has the little cards for my keyring, and a nice Star Wars cloth bag for carrying books. I read a couple books to the grandbaby. She seemed to enjoy that. Grandson read a couple books too.

Next month, to encourage kids to read, they're bringing in a pet skunk. The kids will learn the difference between a pet skunk, and wild skunks. They will also be encouraged to read to the skunk, because the skunk likes to hear children read to it. It's for the kindergarten to 3rd. grade age group.

Got the tin on the roof, and started on the wire.

Sounds like a nice time! :love

Interesting about the skunk. I’ve heard of reading dogs even cats but never heard of reading skunks haha

I just drink 8 oz. of caffeine free diet Coke daily except when we go out to eat. I don't drink anything else except water or skim milk with Ovaltine.
That used to be my pop of choice also. Sometimes I miss it....on hot summer days mainly....or with the favorite drink of pirates mixed in.......if you get my drift.....when out dining with friends. Mixed with diet cherry Coke was even better.:drool Oh GOD I hate my diet I hate my diet I hate my diet!!!:hit

Don’t feel bad, apparently Amazon Fresh isn’t available here either lol just checked.

But Amazon Pantry is available. Try that one. I think they are separate. And I’m pretty sure Fresh is new. And, as the name implies, fresh, like meat and refrigerated stuff and such, so possibly harder to get in all places. Especially since in mine at least one of the grocery stores does delivery too. So maybe hard to compete in some stuff haha

But Pantry is like household stuff (paper towels, detergent, etc.) as well as boxed stuff that lasts in warehouses haha so you may be able to get Pantry there.

Yeah, I use pantry all the time. I got addicted to it last winter when we were snowed in and I was quarantined from taking Methotrexate. Mail couldn't get through but UPS made the run once a week and delivered non perishables right at the door! We have HyVee here. Great store. I'll have to check there for the squash and cheese. They also have what they call Isles On Line where I can go on line and order perishables. Spend 100$ and the service is free. They fill the order for you and have it ready when you say you can pick it up. Never have to go inside. Just call, tell them you are waiting for your groceries and pretty soon somebody is trotting them out and loading them in our van.

Lots of fresh veggies and good meat, so it's easy to spend 100$. I think the last time I did it I spent something like 240 dollars. It's just so danged easy to do and so habit forming. No crying babies with runny noses, no adults walking by you trying to hack up a lung, no running around endless isles looking for tooth picks. The first time relinquishing control was hard but after that I figure I"m supporting several stock people and I've had a chance to talk to some of the workers doing the order fulfillment and they really enjoy doing it and consider it a 'plum' job.

Yep, plan to use it this winter again once the flu season kicks in.

Diets suck. Hugs.

My dad loved cheese from The Swiss and German varieties to Lindburger... Usually sharp tangy and sometimes peppered jack. This was before all the other flavors that came out.

Mom would make him go out to the garage to eat his lindburger... Usually on crackers... He had a huge can of Jalepnios out there that he would eat with his cheese... too.

Man was a manic... LOL.

But I learned Cheese is a very personal experience especially if you can note the subtle differences between american swiss and Euopean swiss. My son likes American but doesnt like European.... We both like shot gun swiss.

but back to your dilemma... Amazon sells food:

Cheese

First one on this page is Chayote squash...
produce

you name it. Usually with next day delivery... of course there are limitations... but worth a try

Fresh from amazon is not available at my location. I am not close enough to a whole foods store

A school brought in a skunk for petting and it had rabies.

Some ideas are not the best LOL! Children should be thought to never try to pet a not domesticated animal. Even a pet skunk is not considered domesticated and can turn you you at any time

The idea of not having to go in and listen o screaming kids and getting everyone else's germs (Sharing is NOT caring!) sounds good but I would have to know who was picking out my perishables, I wouldn't trust that they would give a rat's patootie to make sure they got the best "ones".

Same here, closest one is Albany NY, a mere 150 miles as the crow flies. Of course if it is coming from Whole Foods, my guess is it is pretty expensive.
