The Old Folks Home

They figure the chances of getting the disease is small. And it is IF everyone ELSE is vaccinated. And they don't always kill. I had measles, German measles, chicken pox and mumps. My younger sister also had Scarlet Fever. We lived. Of course there were no vaccines for any of those diseases back then.

Hm that’s true but still a bit weird to me. They’d still at least get pretty sick if they didn’t die. I can understand if they genuinely can’t be but if they can I don’t really. But then again they vaccinate for like a million things these days

While you may have gotten Rubella, and chicken pox as a child, and had no complications, some did. However, getting around a pregnant woman, before realizing you had either, and exposing them to it, could do a lot of damage, and even kill the unborn child. I'll admit that Rubella, measles, and chicken pox are not necessarily the worst of the lot, but anti-vaxers are also against Diphtheria, Polio, Typhus (typhoid fever) Small Pox, and Tetanus vaccines as well. Read up on how horrible the pain, and suffering from some of those diseases can be. Tetanus causing Lockjaw is especially horrid.

Again, the numbers of reported mortalities, prior to the vaccines, are available. The numbers are staggering. Considering too, that they were not as meticulous with record keeping, and some of the deaths from these diseases went unreported, the actual figures were somewhat higher.

We asked at wally and at rite aide they said nope funny but I went through most of life
I was never vaccinated for Diphtheria, Polio, Typhus until I was being sent to other countries to retrieve suitable or new blood bring unrelated dogs to America.. My first vaccine for Tetanus I was like 12, then 24 , 36 I think was the last

Time for a booster!

Traveling overseas, which I did, or being in the military and traveling overseas, they give every vaccine available, and I think they toss in a few extras just for good measure. My dad's philosophy was "Give me the shot. I'm not dying of anything a stupid shot will prevent, or cure."

It's storming like crazy here, and there are tornado warnings for all of this county. The stupid weather bulletins keep coming on the tv every 15 minutes or so, and they are LOUD. Even the cats jumped when the noise started. It scared the kids, which are up late, because there is no school tomorrow. I was forced to turn the volume completely down on the tv.
