But you DID drink soda when you were old enough to ride to town on your bike so you likely had permanent teeth at the time. I think it has more to do with how lucky you were in the "tooth lottery" and how you take care of your teeth.44yrs old now and still no cavities I attribute it to never drinking soda. IDK? But I bet it helped.
I switched to stevia and sweet and low, decaffeinated teas. I try to limit my sugar intake as much as possible. Of course unless you are into grazing in the back yard with the chickens or other herbivores, it wayyyy too much work to avoid it 100%. So my balance is to forego the sugary sweet drinks, bad carbs, etc and use artificial sweeteners whenever possible or avoid it all together. My problem now is limiting the amount of cold green tea I drink. Caffeine + sugar= addictive

My problem is that I do have a sweet tooth, a really really bad sweet tooth. If I limit the sugars 100% in processed foods, I will use sugar in baking, etc. I've learned that if I do the ultra low carb diet, I lose way too much weight.
It's a balancing act I'm not really good at.
