Update: the pancake predator now has a pretty little girlfriend! He spent the afternoon showing her around the coop. He walked in a circle around her, not sure what that means but hopefully it's a good sign?

I am in love also, she is so tiny and precious! On a side note, I always heard about the criteria for stereotyping a person as a "crazy cat lady" but I didn't know the same thing could happen with chickens. They are such a joy!I think he is in love.
Fabulous!

Thank you so much! I love "the Sass" theory and think that it is a very accurate diagnosis!@kcan2 - A big welcome!
Let me be 100% honest. I am newer to introduction welcomes, so I missed this thread when it originated. But let me comment now. Why introduce your own self, when you can introduce your role in this pancake bird's story? I read this over like a short story, and had a good laugh at the way you told it. Honestly laughed out loud at:
"Around the beginning of August, a fowl was spotted on the north side of the garden gate presumably looking to whet the palette with some coveted white moths. I managed to attract this fowl with some bird seed, which it heard scattering on the ground and proceeded to trot rapidly in my direction. Upon closer inspection, the chicken appeared to be wearing pants, more specifically, of a bell-bottom style."
A big round of applause for a unique, funny, heart-string-pulling story that had me rooting for the chook to make his way permanently home with you.
It seems he has gained The Sass. A bird once quiet and reserved becomes entitled and sassy. But have no fear, I think he's just growing into his britches and realizing he's a little man now. He's no longer beat up by his former housemates- he's living good. He's showing his gratitude in his own way.
I vote the telling of another story as he is introduced to some ladies in the future including his new lady you posted photos of. She's a cutie! If he's walking circles around her flapping his little wings- love is in the air.
encore - we need more stories please
