The Pita Pinta Asturiana

Pics
I think the breed average was over 250 and mine lay a lot of eggs. They are up there with the golden comets and arkansas blue egg layers. @PetRock has more of them than I do so maybe she has some input too.
I would say thats about right since I easily get 5 eggs a week from my pullet

Ok I'm so glad I found this thread. I'm totally hooked on these. So is there any links y'all would suggest me using so I can find out more about this breed?

Also another question. How much do y'all sell your hatching eggs and/or chicks for?

Here is a pic of my little ones out from under the plate. I ended up with 11 little fuzz balls and just set 16 more eggs to hatch on Tues. It is interesting to note that most of them are yellow & black but a few of them are white & black. I've marked them before and not noticed any difference in coloring once they get a little older.

Gosh, they are so cute. And congrats on the great hatch! 11 out of ??? What kind of incubator are you using?

How interesting about the silvery one...I would wonder if they are the ones that molt out more on the white side?

Still waiting to see if any of the late ones hatched out on my end. I'll go bug Ethel in a few hours when the rain lets up. I don't think any from the incubator hatched, but I haven't had an update for 14 hours, so we'll see.

It wasn't the greatest hatch. 4 out of 6 from the crazy broody hatched but I pulled them away from her and I'm not giving any of them to her. 7 out of 12 hatched in the incubator. It will be interesting to see if I have a better percentage with this next hatch. They should start hatching tomorrow. I have 16 laying on their sides in my Hovabator Genesis. I have been incubating in my GQF hatccher with manual turning because I can incubate 3 groups at a time. Then I hatch them in my Hovabator. As soon as this hatch is finished, I'm going to put the turner in the Hovabator and move Chris's Cream Legbar eggs into the Hovabator. I have another group of Pita Pinta eggs in the cabinet and I'm going to leave them in the cabinet to hatch.

I had planned on giving all of the first hatch chicks to the broody if she had turned out to be a good mommy. I was not planning on having chicks inside yet but we are sure having fun with them! When I call to them and tap on the scattered food, they all come piling out from under the heat plate and start pecking where I'm tapping. They are the sweetest chicks!
