I ordered a dozen eggs from Sunbird Farms, should be delivered next week!

I had an excellent hatch rate from my eggs that I received from them. Ten out of 16 and it was my first time incubating. Congratulations and please post photos!!

Time for the weekly progression photos. I finished up the small outdoor run space for them today. The weather has been so beautiful and I wanted them to be able to get outside even if it is only for a few hours everyday. I let them out into the big run yesterday while the girls were out in the yard. They loved it and that motivated me to finish their space. They will be 3 weeks old tomorrow.

This is a very temporary space. I hope to integrate them with the big girls in another 4-6 weeks. This ladies they will be joining:

My group of 10 pita chicks will be 4 weeks old tomorrow. I am thinking I have 3-4 cockerels and the 6-7 pullets. I am just guessing based on the size of the combs and 2 have some pink in them starting. A couple of them could go either way, but I know it is a little early to know for sure. I am unplugging the heat during the day starting today and in another week will remove it altogether. They are mostly feathered out now and the temps are warming up.

Here’s a few. The trio are the parents to the New Year hatch

they are among the Bresse and the Raleys store bought fertile eggs. There’s also a Bielefelder or two in there.
