I check all my toe punches at one week and repunch any that are trying to grow back. Sometimes I can't get the little peice of skin off when I do them the first time. So far none have grown back after the second punchYes, that has happened to me, too. You have to be extra careful not to leave any of the piece of skin that was punched out and even if you do, sometimes they still grow back.
Was looking at the new WR cockerel, Weaver, today as he was standing in the sun and noted something shining and glistening on his saddle feathers. Thought to myself, "What in the world did he get into?" as I walked a little closer....then I realized it's his feathers that are glistening in the sun!I've never seen a white cock bird SHINE before. Didn't even know it was possible. It's almost as if he is luminescent and glows from within, truly!![]()
I've suddenly realized that I have entered a whole other realm of poultry.... after all these years I've now got a white bird in my flock that gleams and sparkles in the sun. I'm remembering scenes from Twilight and scratching my head.... Edward?
You'll have to tell Walt. He'd be really happy for you.I'm finding that out! I sure wish Bob was here so I could tell him I finally stepped up into real poultry.
